What is the cause of unstable voltage in car charging generators?
Release time:2023-12-15 08:22:35      Hits:23

To determine the specific fault of a generator, it is necessary to analyze many factors, including non generator faults and generator faults. The instability caused by loose or lost belts is not caused by the generator itself, and poor external circuit contact is also not caused by the generator itself.

However, both of these situations can cause unstable power generation. Therefore, if the generator itself malfunctions, the first thing to consider is the form of the generator regulator. There are four types of regulators for automotive generators: internal and external grounding, internal and external grounding, internal and external grounding, and internal and external grounding. Then, the excitation of the rotor can also be divided into brushed and brushless. After understanding these, based on the design characteristics, one can understand where faults are prone to occur. Compared to these forms, At present, the mainstream use of generators with internal and external grounding brushes is relatively common.

The common faults that can occur are that the carbon brushes will wear and tear over time, causing unstable power generation. There are also intermittent short circuits in the stator coils, which are relatively rare.

In addition, there is also a large proportion of brush generators that use internal ground connections. Relatively speaking, similar to the above forms of faults, external ground connections are unstable in power generation, usually due to aging and loosening of the wiring between the regulator and the generator. Poor contact can cause the regulator to fail to detect the true power generation voltage, resulting in unbalanced regulation and unstable power generation. Compared to brushless generators, the failure rate of brushless generators is much lower, and we will not explain it one by one here.

The generator is unstable. According to the current specific usage situation, most problems are caused by carbon brush wear, poor contact, or severe non-conductive wear of the sliding ring, and a small part is due to poor circuit contact. The generator stator rotor coil has a short circuit caused by an open circuit, and the rectifier part has an open circuit. The faults caused by the generator regulator are generally high or low power generation; A small part of it is also due to unstable power generation caused by the welding of the joint section.
